Fit for defence : 4 Self -defence moves that can save your life.

Weak Points
Everyone has vulnerable parts on their body, these are the eyes, nose, groin and throat. Focus on any of these parts and use maximum exertion and aggression during execution.

Palm Heel Strike
This technique can be used to cause damage to the nose or throat.
To perform:

  • Use your entire body during execution.
  • Make a fist and pull back your wrist. Aim for the nose jabbing upwards towards the nostrils or under the chin jab upwards toward the throat.

Hammer Strike
This technique is very efficient because it requires you to hold an object when you need to defend yourself.
To perform:

  • Make a fist holding an object, this could be your keys, a bag or a blunt object.
  • Thrust downward toward your assailant.

Elbow Strike
This is a full body movement that requires you to be stable when you are attacking your aggressor. Poor stability results into weak execution.

To perform:

  • Stabilize yourself using your legs and core.
  • Bend your arm and using your elbow strike your attackers neck, chin or jawline.
  • Your attacker will loosen their grip giving you  an opportunity to escape.

Groin Kick

If your attacker is coming from the front, a well-executed groin kick may deliver enough force to paralyze them.

Groin Kick

To perform:

  • Stabilize yourself. This movement requires you to balance on one leg during execution.
  • The kicking leg should come from behind with a lot of force.

If your assailant is too close to you, use your knee instead. Bend your knee, thrust your hips forward and hit the assailant.
